So many items to put in your Zipper Pocket Mittens!!
My name is Pamela and I have been designing mittens sense 2003.
I got started when my children were younger I made their clothes without patterns. I became a designer because I couldn't afford both pattern and fabric, so i bought the fabric and started making clothes. I got really good at designing little girls dresses and crafts. I give Father God all the glory for giving me this sewing talent and the ideas he gives me.
The mitten story is kind of a funny story because my mother who has sewn all her life started making mittens approximately in 1998. She said to me you have got to start making these mittens, people just love them. I had told her, mom who would buy these mittens. Fast forward to 2003 when a coworker brought in a pair she bought at a show. During my lunch I went home made myself a pattern and when I got home in the evening I started to make mittens selling them as fast as I made them.
Each year as my customers would make request, I would tweak and make changes to my design. Including adding leather on the palms & thumbs, making different sizes for both men & women and designed the zipper pocket in 2016. I now personalize the mittens a little more by embroidering on them and/or adding flowers & leaves which make them look very cute and extremely warm.
2003 I designed my first pair of mittens
2012 I started sewing leather on the palms & thumbs
2015 I designed flowers & embroidering on my mittens
2016 I designed the popular zipper pocket mitten.
